What it is

flexcal books meetings for one person and stops there. No dashboard of features you will never switch on, and no settings pages for a company structure you do not have.

flexcal is an independently maintained fork of cal.com. In August 2026 the project audited its own provenance, removed the code it had no right to ship, and relicensed under the AGPLv3.

flexcal ships as a Docker image, with a Compose file that includes PostgreSQL. Your bookings stay in your own database, and the code is yours to read and change under the AGPLv3.

Developing on flexcal

Questions

Before you
spin it up.

Is there a hosted version?

Not yet, but a hosted version is planned. Until then you run flexcal on your own infrastructure, against your own PostgreSQL database.

Is there a license key or a paid tier?

No. There is no license key and no vendor account, and every feature that ships works out of the box. The code is licensed under the AGPLv3.

How does flexcal relate to cal.com?

flexcal is an independently maintained fork of cal.com. In August 2026 the project audited its own provenance, removed the code it had no right to ship, and relicensed under the AGPLv3. That removal is why some features are out of scope.

Can I move over from a self-hosted cal.com?

Yes, if your instance is at or before cal.com 6.2.0, where flexcal forked. flexcal keeps cal.com’s database migrations, so you point it at the existing database and start it. The migration guide lists what comes across and what does not.

What do I need to run it?

Docker with Compose, or Node.js 20 or newer and Bun to build from source, plus PostgreSQL 13 or newer. One vCPU and 2 GB of RAM is enough for a small instance. There is also a Helm chart for Kubernetes.

How do I report a bug or contribute?

Open an issue on the issue tracker. Code, documentation and translation fixes are all welcome; the contributing guide covers the conventions.
